Public Notice – MLD Regulations 45-Day Comment Period

The Native American Heritage Commission has extended its pre-notice preliminary activities for adopting regulations to implement Public Resources Code section 5097.98 and issues relevant to Public Resources Code section 5097.98. On October 18, 2019, the Commissioners voted to extend a 45-day comment period to interested parties to review and comment the draft proposed Most Likely Descendant Regulations before they are submitted to the Office of Administrative Law. The Commission anticipates incorporating comments and initiating the Office of Administrative Law process shortly after the close of the 45-day comment period.

Attached is the draft proposed Most Likely Descendant Regulations for your review and comment. Comments can be sent via email: MLDRegComments@NAHC.ca.gov or NAHC@nahc.ca.gov and/or mailed to: Native American Heritage Commission, 1550 Harbor Blvd, Suite 100, West Sacramento, CA 95691. The comment period will close December 5, 2019.
